Uninterruptible Power Supply equipment

UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply equipment refers to power supply equipment that will not be interrupted by short power outages, can always supply high-quality power, and effectively protect precision instruments. The full name is Uninterruptible Power System. It also has the function of stabilizing voltage, similar to a voltage stabilizer.

A. Structure:

From the basic application principle, (UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply is a power protection device that contains energy storage devices, uses inverters as the main components, and outputs stable voltage and frequency. It is mainly composed of rectifiers, batteries, inverters, and static switches.

1. Rectifier: A rectifier is a rectifying device, which is simply a device that converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). It has two main functions: first, it converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC), supplies it to the load after filtering, or supplies it to the inverter; second, it provides charging voltage to the battery. Therefore, it also acts as a charger;

2. Battery: The battery is a device used by UPS to store electrical energy. It is composed of several batteries connected in series. Its capacity determines the time it can maintain discharge (power supply). Its main functions are: 1. When the mains power is normal, it converts electrical energy into chemical energy and stores it inside the battery. 2. When the mains power fails, it converts chemical energy into electrical energy and provides it to the inverter or load;

3. Inverter: The inverter is a device that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). It consists of an inverter bridge, control logic and filter circuit;

4. Static switch: The static switch is also called a static switch. It is a contactless switch. It is an AC switch composed of two thyristors (SCR) connected in reverse parallel. Its closing and opening are controlled by a logic controller. It is divided into two types: conversion type and parallel type. The conversion type switch is mainly used in systems with two power supplies. Its function is to realize automatic switching from one to another; the parallel type switch is mainly used to connect the inverter in parallel with the mains or multiple inverters.

B. Types:

(UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply is divided into three categories according to the working principle: backup type, online type and online interactive type.

1. Among them, the most commonly used one is the backup type (UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply: which has the most basic and important functions of UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply such as automatic voltage regulation and power failure protection. Although it generally has a conversion time of about 10ms, and the AC output of the inverter is a square wave rather than a sine wave, it has the advantages of simple structure, low price and high reliability, so it is widely used in microcomputers, peripherals, POS machines and other fields.

2. The online type (UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply has a more complex structure: but has perfect performance and can solve all power supply problems. Its notable feature is that it can continuously output pure sine wave AC power without interruption, and can solve all power supply problems such as spikes, surges, and frequency drifts; because it requires a large investment, it is usually used in key equipment and network centers and other environments with strict power requirements.

3. Online interactive (UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply: compared with the backup type, the online interactive type has filtering function, strong anti-interference ability of mains power, conversion time is less than 4ms, and the inverter output is a simulated sine wave, so it can be equipped with network equipment such as servers and routers, or used in areas with poor power environment.

C. Application:

1. Uninterruptible Power Supply is now widely used in: mining, aerospace, industry, communications, national defense, hospitals, computer business terminals, network servers, network equipment, data storage equipment (UPS power supply) Uninterruptible Power Supply emergency lighting system, railways, shipping, transportation, power plants, substations, nuclear power plants.

2. fire safety alarm system.

3. wireless communication system, program-controlled switch, mobile communication.

4. solar energy storage and conversion equipment.

5. control equipment and its emergency protection system, personal computerand other fields.
