Uninterrupted Power Supply

Although both power UPS uninterruptible power supply and conventional UPS backup power supply have the same name (UPS) uninterruptible power supply, there are significant differences in structure and usage.

1、 What is the difference between power dedicated UPS and conventional UPS power supply

1) The power dedicated UPS power supply itself does not come with a battery pack, and directly uses the battery pack hung on the DC screen busbar, so the power dedicated UPS power supply does not have a charger.

2) Because the battery of the DC screen is hung on the busbar, and the DC screen has a ground insulation detection module, the input/output of the power dedicated UPS power supply must have an isolation transformer.

3) The external dimensions of the power dedicated UPS power cabinet are generally a standard power cabinet of 800 * 600 * 2260, and the status of the internal switches and indicator lights can be seen through the glass door from the outside. Output the number and capacity of feeder circuits.

4) The specialized UPS power supply for power is generally composed of three parts: the main unit of the power UPS uninterruptible power supply, the bypass voltage regulator cabinet, and the output feeder cabinet.

5) Due to the fact that most of the loads in power plants and substations are single-phase loads, single-phase load distribution lines are simple and easy to maintain. Therefore, most power dedicated UPS power supplies output single-phase 220V, with a capacity generally within the range of 50kVA.

2、 Special UPS power supply for electricity:

Power specific UPS power supply is a power product designed specifically for power plants, substations, and distribution stations to meet the development needs of electricity. It has dual conversion online and zero conversion functions. Mainly used for power remote control, RTU, power carrier, power monitoring, etc.

When the mains power is normal, single-phase 220V (or three-phase 380V) is isolated, rectified, and filtered before being supplied to the load through an inverter; If the input of the AC power grid is abnormal or there is a power outage, the backup DC screen of the power system will be powered by reverse diode inversion. When the DC screen is under voltage or power outage, the static switch will switch to bypass power supply; When the mains power returns to normal, it automatically switches to mains power inverter supply. If the inverter is overloaded or faulty, it will switch to bypass power supply and issue a warning signal at the same time.

3、 Conventional UPS backup power supply:

UPS backup power refers to power equipment that will not be interrupted by brief power outages, can continuously supply high-quality power, and effectively protect precision instruments. It also has the function of stabilizing voltage, similar to a voltage regulator. In terms of basic application principles, a conventional UPS backup power supply is a power protection device that includes an energy storage device, an inverter as the main component, and stable voltage and frequency output. It mainly consists of several parts such as rectifier, battery, inverter, and static switch. UPS power supplies are divided into three categories based on their working principles: backup, online, and online interactive.

For the vast number of users, in order to better utilize the related efficiency of UPS backup power supply and power dedicated UPS uninterruptible power supply, Shenzhen CNKHZ company once again provides that customers should clarify the corresponding advantages of both, which is relatively crucial to effectively meet their own needs and maximize the power supply function.
