How to use UPS backup power

The correct use of uninterruptible power supply is to ensure the normal operation of the equipment for a long time. Before use, you should read the precautions for use. It can make the UPS power supply work for a long time and reduce the occurrence of faults.

1. How to use the uninterruptible power supply correctly:

1). Normal startup sequence:Because the general load has an impact current at the moment of startup, and the power components inside the UPS have a certain safe working range, although we have left a certain margin when selecting the components, excessive impact current will still shorten the service life of the components, and even cause damage to the components. Therefore, when using it, the damage caused by the impact current should be minimized.

Generally, when the UPS is working in bypass mode, it has a strong impact resistance. We can use this feature to use the following method when starting up: first send the mains power to the UPS to make it work in bypass mode, and then turn on the loads one by one, first turn on the load with a larger impact current, then turn on the load with a smaller impact current, and then turn on the UPS panel to make it in the inverter working state. When starting up, you must not turn on all loads at the same time, and you cannot start up with load.

2). Shutdown sequence:The shutdown sequence is as follows: first turn off the loads one by one, then turn off the UPS panel, so that the UPS is in bypass mode while the charger continues to charge the battery pack. If UPS output is required, turn off the UPS completely, and then disconnect the input AC power.

3). Use of backup UPS:Backup UPS generally has no load detection function under AC power, and only relies on the input fuse for protection. If the user does not pay attention to this when using it, it is easy to overload under AC power. Although the UPS may continue to work under AC power, once the AC power abnormally switches to battery inverter work, the UPS will shut down due to overload protection, which may cause UPS damage in severe cases. The above situations will cause output interruption and bring certain losses to users. Therefore, when using backup UPS, special attention should be paid to not overload.

4). Use of long-lasting UPS:Since the external battery of a long-lasting UPS is separated from the UPS host and connected to each other by a battery connection, there will be no problem in normal use. However, when the user is installing or moving the machine, it will be necessary to reconnect the wires. The following issues should be noted when connecting the wires:

①. The voltage polarity should be correct when connecting the battery;

②. Do not connect the wires between the battery and the host first, and wait until the UPS mains input generates a charging voltage before connecting. That is, the UPS should first connect to the mains and then to the battery.

2. What are the precautions for using (UPS) uninterruptible power supply?

1). Before you operate (UPS), please be sure to read the random "User Guide" in detail.

2). Before turning on the machine, make sure that the polarity of the input mains wiring is correct to ensure personal safety and avoid damage to the UPS.

3). Pay full attention to the total load capacity ratio that can be greater than the rated power of the UPS.

4). After the mains power is interrupted and the UPS is automatically shut down by the battery, do not use the UPS battery to start the machine to power it, so as to avoid damage to the battery due to over-discharge.

5). When the mains power is abnormal and the UPS switches to battery power, the standard machine should be unloaded and shut down in time, and then turned on and used after the mains power returns to normal.

6). The standard machine cannot be used as a long-term machine with an external battery, otherwise the machine will greatly shorten the battery life.

7). The UPS should not work in an environment above 30°C for a long time, otherwise the battery life will be greatly shortened.

8). Please do not put magnetic media on the UPS, otherwise it will easily cause data loss in the UPS and damage the machine.

9). The UPS is more suitable for capacitive loads, but not for inductive loads (such as air conditioners, hair dryers, electric drills), half-wave loads and impact loads (such as printers). UPS with square wave output cannot carry inductive loads.

10). The UPS should not be operated at full load and light load all the time. Generally, 50%-80% of the rated capacity is selected.

11). The use environment of the UPS should pay attention to good ventilation to facilitate heat dissipation. And keep the environment clean.

12). The UPS output socket should be clearly marked to avoid adding irrelevant loads or short circuits.

13). Do not connect inductive loads, such as money counters, fluorescent lamps, and air conditioners, to avoid damage.

14). If the user uses a generator to supply power during a city power outage, the generator power should be greater than twice the UPS rated power. The UPS can only be connected after the generator starts and stabilizes.

15). When turning on the UPS load, generally follow the principle of large first and small later.

16). It is best to control the UPS output load at around 60%, which has the best reliability.
