The difference between high-current chip inductors and ordinary inductors

SMD inductors belong to a large category under inductance. There are many categories below, such as SMD shielded inductors, SMD unshielded inductors, SMD high current inductors, etc. If you want to know the difference between SMD inductors and ordinary inductors, your first choice Need to understand the characteristics of chip inductors.

Ⅰ. The characteristics of chip inductors:

1. The surface is smooth and suitable for surface mounting, with excellent end-face strength and good solderability.

2. The chip inductor has the characteristics of high Q value and low impedance.

3. Features of low magnetic leakage, low DC resistance and high current resistance.

4. SMD inductors are provided with braid packaging, which is convenient for automated assembly.

Ⅱ. High-current chip inductors have all the characteristics of all chip inductors, in addition to the following features:

1. High current resistance: The high current inductance coil is made of thick copper wire and flat wire, which can withstand high current.

2. High stability: The high-current inductor adopts a fully enclosed magnetic shielding structure, which has good airtightness and high stability.

3. Wide application range: high-current chip inductors have super pressure resistance and long-term stability, and can be used on computer motherboards, microcontrollers, graphics cards and other long-working equipment. Ordinary SMD power inductors are intelligently used as filter inductors. Although the DC-DC module plays the same role, the responsibility of high current inductors is much greater than that of any ordinary power inductors. At present, many computer motherboard manufacturers are developing filter circuits composed of high-current inductors, which have strong stability and durability. It can be said that the performance of the inductance determines the performance of the motherboard.
